About Rishikesh

Rishikesh is a city and a municipal board in the Dehradun district in the India state of Uttrakhand. It is located in the foothills of the Himalayas in northern India and is known as The Gateway to the Himalayas. Rishikesh is surrounded by three other districts: Tehri Garhwal, Pauri Garhwal, and Haridwar. It is located approximately 20kms north of the holy city of Haridwar. It is about 25 km north of Haridwar and 43 km southeast of the state capital Dehradun. Rishikesh is known for its adventure sports as well.
