Kanha National Park, also known as Kanha Tiger Reserve, is a vast expanse of grassland and forest in Madhya Pradesh, a state in central India. Kanha Meadows is home to tigers, jackals, and wild pigs. It was designated a reserve forest in 1879 and a wildlife sanctuary in 1933. Kanha was divided into two sanctuaries, Hallon and Banjar, of 250 and 300 square kilometers, respectively, in the 1930s. Its legal status was established in 1955. Bamni Dadar, popular as Sunset Point, is a heightened attraction within the park that offers the most awe-inspiring backdrop of the sunset against grazing Sambhars and Gaurs, magnifying the natural splendor of the area. Aside from its diverse wildlife and bird population, the most popular draw at Kanha Wildlife Sanctuary is the frequent sightings of Tigers roaming in the wild.
